Currency and Financial Transactions

All prices on our website are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of GST. We reserve the right to amend our price list at any time without prior notice. If you have placed an order, we reserve the right to cancel your order should our prices change.

We do not store any Credit Card Details at all, and we use a secure Third Party Provider to process all Credit Card transactions.

Descriptions of Products

Images with our products have been provided for illustrative purposes only and Burch & Purchese does not guarantee that any image will reproduce in true colour nor that any given image will reflect or portray the full design or options relating to that product.

When we become aware of any misdescription, we reserve the right to correct any error or omission.

Ordering Products

Our products are supplied and delivered to customers within Australia. By purchasing a product through our website, you acknowledge that you are over 18 years of age.

When ordering from us, you will be required to provide your name and address for delivery, your email address, telephone contact details and credit card information. We undertake to take due care with this information however in providing us with such information you accept that we are not liable for its misuse due to error in transmission or virus.

Your order will be accepted or rejected within 5 days of placing the order. If we have not responded to you within 5 days, your order is deemed to be rejected. We are not required to give reasons for rejecting your order, however the most likely reason for rejecting the order will be that we do not currently have that product in stock.

Once you have submitted an order through our website, you may not cancel the order even if our acceptance or rejection of your order is still pending.

All risk or loss of damage to the goods passes to you when we dispatch the goods. If an order is lost in transit, orders will not be replaced until such time as the original order has been located and returned to Burch & Purchese.

Ordering Perishable Products

Our range of perishable products include desserts, cakes, bake at home kits and celebration cakes.

The above items must be collected from Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio - 647 Chapel Street, South Yarra, Victoria.

Kerbside delivery is available to selected suburbs via Uber (Passenger Vehicles). Please visit our FAQ page for a list of suburbs and pricing.

Cancellations and Refund Policy - Please allow a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellation requests after this time will not be accepted.

Orders cancelled within the the required time frame will receive a credit voucher.

Transportation and Limitation of Liability

It is important to remember that your Burch & Purchese cake is a delicate and perishable product. To ensure the quality of your cake is not compromised during transportation, we recommend that you keep your cake box flat at all times and avoid placing it in direct sunlight. The floor or boot of your car is the best place and ensure your box is secure and will not slide around.

Once you have collected or accepted delivery of your cake, it is important to follow these instructions as Burch & Purchese will not accept liability for any loss or damage caused during transportation or delivery of the product.

To the full extent permitted by law, our liability for breach of an implied warranty or condition is limited to the supply of goods only.

We accept no liability for any loss whatsoever including consequential loss suffered by you arising from any wedding cake, cake or other product we have supplied.

Shipping

Express Australia Post

Packaging and postage is calculated at the time of purchase.

Burch & Purchese does not accept liability for any loss or damage due to late delivery.

Express Post Parcels are shipped on business days, Tuesday to Thursday via Express Australia Post. Orders with a delivery address to a capital city will usually be delivered within 3 - 5 business days (excluding Perth and Darwin). Please note that COVID 19 has impacted this current service.

For regional areas with addresses in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, delivery may take up to 7 days. No orders will be dispatched on Friday to ensure products are not stored in hot warehouses or depots over the weekend.

Any orders received on our website after 2:00pm on a Thursday will be shipped the following Tuesday.

Whilst we discourage products to be left at your delivery address when no one is there, it is ultimately at the discretion of Australia Post and is out of our control.

Shipping times may vary during the holiday season, Christmas and Easter.

Products will not be shipped if the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius in Melbourne.

Kerbside Delivery via Uber (passenger vehicles)

Fees and charges are displayed on our FAQ and are subject to change without notice.

Please note certain addresses within the designated postcodes may be rejected if accessibility is deemed to be too difficult for this service.

Delivery drivers will not enter apartment buildings, office block, hospitals and shopping centres etc. Recipients will be required to meet the driver on the street and a link will be sent so they can track the delivery time.

This service is available Tuesday to Friday. Booked must be placed a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Delivery will be scheduled between three delivery windows

10am – 12pm | 12pm – 2pm | 2pm – 4pm |

Burch & Purchese does not accept liability for any loss or damage due to late delivery.

To book this service you must also provide the following information

• Your full name and mobile number
• The recipients full name and mobile number
• Full delivery address, including the building or business name if relevant
• Delivery date
• Delivery window

It is the customers responsibility to ensure that someone will be available to meet the driver at the designated time.

Burch & Purchese will take every precaution to ensure the delivery is a success but will take no responsibility if the customer is unable to receive the delivery. There will only be one delivery attempt.

Cancellation due to Error

We will immediately refund your credit card for the total amount debited if a product has been listed on our website with incorrect price or incorrect descriptive information and we reserve the right to cancel the transaction.

Returning a Product

We strive to ensure that our products are delivered to you in the condition that they were dispatched via Express Post from our Studio, however we cannot be held responsible if you are not present when your package is delivered to you, please ensure you supply a shipping address where your goods can be received during business hours. If you wish to return a faulty or damaged product, you must notify us within 24 hours of receiving your delivery either by phone or through our Contact Us webpage.

If we are unable to return or replace the damaged or faulty products, we undertake to reimburse your credit card for the amount debited including packaging and postage charges.

All materials contained on this website, including but not limited to text, articles, images, logos, buttons, icons and the selection and arrangement thereof are protected by copyright law. All intellectual property, unless otherwise stated, on this website is owned by Burch & Purchese.
